What you need.
1, Remnants of a skein of nice yarn that you like that isn’t too thick. Good stitch definition is definitely a plus.
2, Needles (a size that will make the fabric tight and even).
3, Darning needle.
4, A D-ring and hook.
5. A few beads to your liking.
Optional.
You can add a clasp for closure if you want to. I think it makes the lanyard look a little more professional, but it really isn't necessary
This is a very simple and fun pattern to knit as a gift for friends and family or to use yourself. A parfect way to keep track of your keys or cell phone.Knitting instructions
1. Cast on 5 stitches. Leave a yarn end that's at least four inches long.
2. K1, P1, repeat till the end of time :)
3. Cast off when you think it’s long enough.
Note. Moss stitch/Seed stitch makes the edges stay flat and makes for a pretty nice texture imo. A bit stretchy.
Assembly
1. Thread the lanyard through the D-ring and sew the lanyard together right above the D-ring to keep the hook in place.
2.I f you're not using a clasp, I would sew together the ends around the D-clasp, to make the lanyard look nicer.
3. If you are using a clasp, use the yarn ends to sew the two pieces of the clasp to the two ends of the lanyard instead. (I will try to add pics to make this clearer later on).
4. Adorn the key band with beads or charms as you see fit.
Voilà lanyard!
